I used to always want to be a firefighter. No idea where that came from. But that always seemed really cool! Anyway, I trained as a carpenter and besides that I have always been busy with my biggest hobby: music. Would it run in the family do you think?
That hobby started to get more serious when I actually started going to clubs to spin as well. Under my own DJ name I played in smaller, to increasingly larger clubs and still worked as a carpenter/furniture maker
But before I knew it, I was spinning for 50,000 people and flying to Ibiza to spin during catamaran parties on various private beaches. Truly a dream come true.
So why are you a furniture maker now would you think? Well I'm going to tell you. After having some pretty negative experiences with managers, I was so done with the 'show world that I simply decided to quit. I then decided to put turning on the back burner and focus on what I'm doing now.
Meanwhile, my father had started a successful interior design business and could use all the help he could get. And I could put my creativity to good use. In fact, making interior pieces is also a kind of show. You're building something that makes people happy. It's intimate. You visit people's homes and have a lot of personal contact. That's what makes me happy every day. Creating something cool that others can enjoy for a large part of their lives. That's what I enjoy getting out of bed for every day now!
