The Kramer Family
We designed and built this kitchen in close consultation with the Kramer family, always guided by a single guiding principle: coming home to a sense of calm. This translated into a warm, inviting atmosphere where everything comes together harmoniously, without making the space feel cluttered. The result is a kitchen that has character and promotes relaxation.
The strength of this kitchen lies in the combination of materials that, at first glance, seem disparate but actually complement each other perfectly. The warm walnut veneer flows seamlessly and handle-free across the entire wall, while the dusty pink kitchen island adds a playful and surprising accent. The light-colored natural stone countertop bridges both worlds and extends down the side to the floor, creating not only an eye-catching feature but also a comfortable seating and workspace. Together, these materials create a cozy yet serene atmosphere, complemented by built-in Siemens appliances that blend seamlessly into the overall design.
In a separate alcove adjacent to the kitchen, we created a coffee corner and a beverage cabinet. The espresso station takes center stage here, with an illuminated glass shelf above it and open compartments for bottles and glassware. By giving these functions their own space, the kitchen itself remains calm and tidy, while everything needed for coffee or drinks is right at your fingertips. The subtle lighting gives the alcove a warm and welcoming atmosphere at any time of day.
By thoughtfully incorporating both open and closed sections, the design creates a sense of calm throughout the space while providing room to showcase the family’s favorite items. Behind the sleek cabinet fronts lies ample hidden storage, featuring soft-close drawers in the kitchen island and a spacious wall of cabinets that keeps everything out of sight. The open shelves, equipped with recessed LED lighting, serve as a showcase for personal touches and books. This way, every corner of the kitchen is put to good use, and everything the family loves is shown off to its best advantage—so bring on the DJ!
