A chic showcase and custom wall unit in Hillegersberg

Erikson family

In Rotterdam Hillegersberg stands the house of family Erikson. The family had an acquaintance make some beautiful drawings of some furniture work, these then of course had to be realized!

After seeing the drawings and taking measurements, we knew what we were in for; luxurious cabinets with a construction-heavy look.

With some minor technical adjustments to the drawings, we were ready to realize these cabinets.

The floating custom display case

The real eye-catcher in the room is the display cabinet with sliding glass doors made of 6 mm thick tempered glass. To give this cabinet a chic and warm look, dark walnut veneer was chosen.

Since the walnut veneer comes standard with a thickness of 19mm, we attached two sheets together to meet the robust design. In addition, we mitered the corners of the cabinet for the cleanest finish.

The unique lighting in this display case is striking. We carefully measured the locations for the light points in advance. We also neatly concealed the wires for an extra tidy effect.

Matching custom wall unit

To create unity in the home, we made a custom wall unit on the other side of the room in the same style as the display cabinet.

The floating effect of these cabinets was a challenge, as the design showed us cabinets with a construction-heavy look. Fortunately, we do love a challenge and managed to securely attach this furniture to the concrete wall.

Finally, both pieces of furniture were finished with a matte lacquer for a calm and chic effect. All entirely to the wishes and tastes of Erikson family.

What we made:
Custom cabinets
  • Floating display case
